MATCH PREVIEW
Zimbabwe aims to improve its Test record as it takes on Afghanistan in a solitary Test match from Monday at Harare Sports Club. The home side has suffered six consecutive Test losses and faces a challenging task against Afghanistan, which previously defeated them 1-0 in a two-Test series in Bulawayo. Of the seven Tests between these teams, Zimbabwe has only one victory, with five losses and a draw.
The return of left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava and all-rounder Brad Evans, absent from Zimbabwe’s last series against New Zealand, is expected to strengthen the team. Additionally, the experience of captain Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza, and Blessing Muzarabani will be crucial for Zimbabwe.
Afghanistan, led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, will be without its star all-rounder Rashid Khan, who has been rested. However, fresh talents excelling at the domestic level have been included in the squad.
