Vaibhav Suryavanshi Sets Record as Youngest Centurion in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
Vaibhav Suryavanshi achieved his first century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy during a group-stage match between Bihar and Maharashtra in Kolkata on Tuesday. At just 14 years old, he became the youngest player to score a century in SMAT history, reaching the milestone in 58 balls by hitting seven fours and seven sixes.
Previously, Suryavanshi established himself as the youngest T20 centurion with a rapid 35-ball hundred for the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans in the 2025 Indian Premier League season.
A tweet from BCCI Domestic highlighted Suryavanshi’s record-breaking feat at the age of 14 years and 250 days, during which he scored an impressive 108* off 61 balls for Bihar against Maharashtra in Kolkata.
Despite a brief period of low scores with innings of 14, 13, and 5, Suryavanshi had earlier achieved his first fifty of the tournament in 34 balls. His unbeaten 108 led Bihar to a total of 176 for three in their 20 overs.
