Unconventional Tea Breaks Mark Historic IND vs SA Test in Guwahati
The second Test match in the two-game series between India and South Africa will take place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati from November 22 to 26. This match will feature an uncommon schedule of breaks due to early sunrise and sunset times in Assam, a state in eastern India.
Traditionally, the tea break occurs after lunch, but for this match, it will be taken beforehand. The first session will start at 9 AM IST and conclude at 11 AM IST, followed by the tea break. The second session will be from 11:20 AM IST to 1:20 PM IST, after which the players will break for lunch. The final session of the day will be from 2 PM IST to 4 PM IST.
This will be the inaugural Test match held in Guwahati.
Typically, Test matches in India commence at 9:30 AM IST, with lunch at 11:30 AM IST. The second session usually spans from 12:10 PM IST to 2:10 PM IST, followed by the tea break. The final session typically runs from 2:30 PM IST to 4:30 PM IST, with a potential 30-minute extension to ensure 90 overs are played each day.
