Match Preview
India heads to the MCG for the second T20I against Australia on Friday, buoyed by the rise of young talent and captain Suryakumar Yadav’s revival in form.
Fast-bowling allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, out since January, remains sidelined due to neck spasms impacting his recovery and mobilization, announced the BCCI on Wednesday. He is also expected to miss the following two games.
India is also without Hardik Pandya, who is recuperating from a quadriceps injury, leading to some imbalance in the team in recent months. Shivam Dube, who regained fitness after missing the opening round of the Ranji Trophy due to back stiffness, filled the seam-bowling all-rounder gap in Canberra and is anticipated to continue in this role at Melbourne.
