Sudharsan’s Century Triumphs as Tamil Nadu Overcomes Shami’s Fiery Spell
The group stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025-26 concluded on Monday. In a Group D match in Ahmedabad, B Sai Sudharsan ended Tamil Nadu’s campaign with an impressive unbeaten century against Saurashtra.

Sai Sudharsan – The Tamil Nadu opener scored a brilliant unbeaten 101 off just 55 balls, featuring 10 fours and four sixes, leading his team to a three-wicket victory in pursuit of 184, achieved within 19 overs.
Ajinkya Rahane – The Mumbai opener’s sterling 95 not out from 56 balls, which included nine fours and three sixes, eased the defending champions to a comfortable chase of 168 against Odisha at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.
Mohammed Shami – The Bengal pacer took four wickets for 30 runs in his four overs, helping to restrict Haryana to 191 for nine. However, Bengal fell short by 24 runs, ending their hopes of progressing to the Super League as they concluded with four wins in seven matches.
