The Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Sunday that Pakistan will host South Africa in a multi-format series starting on October 12. This tour will initiate the new 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle for both teams. As current WTC champions, South Africa enters this cycle having won the 2023-25 edition.

The Test matches are scheduled for Lahore (October 12-16) and Rawalpindi (October 20-24). Afterwards, the teams will compete in six white-ball games comprising three T20Is and three ODIs. The first T20I is set for Rawalpindi on October 28, with the remaining two in Lahore on October 31 and November 1.

Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium will be the venue for the ODIs on November 4, 6, and 8. This will mark the stadium’s first ODI hosting since 2008, when Pakistan played against Bangladesh.

The South African Test and T20I teams are returning to Pakistan after a four-year gap, following a 2-0 Test series defeat there in 2021. Earlier this year, their ODI team participated in the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan, where they reached the semifinals before being defeated by New Zealand.
