Smriti Mandhana Soars to Top in Latest ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings
Indian top-order batter Smriti Mandhana has regained her position as the No. 1 ranked batter in the latest ICC ODI rankings for women, released this Tuesday. Her return to the top comes after scoring a solid half-century, featuring a 63-ball 58, though it came in a losing effort against Australia in the first game of their three-match series in Mullanpur. Despite India’s loss, Mandhana’s performance was pivotal, as Australia comfortably secured victory to lead 1-0 in the series.
This achievement is expected to bolster Mandhana’s confidence as she heads into the Women’s Cricket World Cup, commencing on September 30. Her half-century earned her seven rating points, placing her four points ahead of England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt, who now holds the second position.
Mandhana now holds 735 rating points, surpassing Sciver-Brunt’s 731. She first claimed the No. 1 ODI batter ranking in 2019 and has reclaimed it twice in 2025.
Meanwhile, India’s Pratika Rawal, who scored 64, climbed four spots to 42nd position. Harleen Deol also made a notable leap to 43rd after contributing a well-played 54 against Australia.
For Australia, Beth Mooney moved up three spots to occupy the fifth rank after her unbeaten 77. Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield both ascended to the 25th position following their half-centuries in the match, which Australia won by eight wickets.
In the bowling rankings, Australia’s Kim Garth and Alana King each moved up one place to secure fourth and fifth positions, respectively, marking their career-best rankings. India’s Sneh Rana rose five places to 13th after taking a wicket in the first ODI, while England’s Sophie Ecclestone retained her position as the top-ranked bowler.
