Indian middle-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues will miss the rest of the ODI series against Australia due to a viral fever, as announced by the BCCI. Tejal Hasabnis has been selected to replace her for the final two matches.
With the Women’s ODI World Cup just around the corner, Rodrigues’s absence from the remaining matches is a significant loss for India and a missed opportunity for her to prepare for the major event. She managed 18 runs in her last game against Australia at the New PCA Stadium in Chandigarh, a match where India faced defeat.
Tejal Hasabnis, in her brief ODI career of six matches, has accumulated 140 runs, with her highest score being a half-century achieved against Ireland earlier this year in January. The squad remains the same, with Prema Rawat and Priya Mishra continuing on standby for the series.
Australia currently leads the three-match ODI series 1-0, with the second game scheduled for today at the New PCA stadium in Chandigarh.
