RCB vs GG, WPL 2026: Richa and Radha’s Rally, Shreyanka’s Five-For Seals Unbeaten Streak for Bengaluru
Richa Ghosh and Radha Yadav showcased their exceptional talent in the shortest format of cricket once again.
On Friday, these explosive batters displayed their prowess by rescuing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with a crucial 105-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Their efforts led to a 32-run victory over Gujarat Giants in a Women’s Premier League match.
In front of an almost packed D.Y. Patil Stadium, Radha (66 from 47 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes) and Richa (44 from 28 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes) capitalized on their opportunities and lifted RCB to a competitive 182 for seven after a challenging start at 43 for four during the PowerPlay.

In response, Sophie Devine and captain Beth Mooney provided the Giants with a solid start. However, Shreyanka Patil’s remarkable spell, taking five wickets for 23 runs, swung the match in RCB’s favor. Despite Bharti Fulmali’s spirited 20-ball 39, the Giants succumbed as Lauren Bell claimed her wicket.
The day, undoubtedly, belonged to Radha and Richa, who turned the game around. Initially, the Giants’ decision to bowl seemed wise as fast bowlers Kashvee Gautam, Renuka Singh, and Devine consistently took early wickets, bringing RCB to a precarious position. Grace Harris’s aggressive start ended when she was trapped leg before by Kashvee, who quickly dismissed Dayalan Hemalatha as well. RCB’s captain Smriti Mandhana and Gautami Naik fell in quick succession, leaving RCB struggling with just 45 runs during the PowerPlay.
However, Richa and Radha anchored the innings as they capitalized on the dropped catches by the Giants. Radha sped up the scoring, reaching her maiden fifty in the tournament, while Richa played a steady innings, highlighted by a couple of late sixes.
Although Richa was out just six runs shy of a well-deserved half-century, her innings was pivotal. Nadine de Klerk then added a quick-fire 26 from 12 balls, pushing RCB past the 180-run barrier and ensuring they could defend the total effectively.
