New Zealand T20I Squad vs England: Santner and Ravindra Back from Injury
Mitchell Santner, New Zealand’s white-ball captain, and Rachin Ravindra have bounced back from injuries and have been selected for the Kiwi squad set to face England in a three-match T20I series starting Saturday in Christchurch.
Santner was sidelined during the recent series against Australia due to recovery from abdominal surgery. Meanwhile, Ravindra had to sit out after sustaining a facial injury.
Kane Williamson, the former captain, will not participate in the T20Is against England. He is targeting his comeback to international cricket in the subsequent One-Day International series.
“Kane had a minor medical issue last month, and we agreed he needs more time to get physically prepared. He’s a world-class player, and we hope these two weeks will have him ready for the ODIs against England and the West Indies tour,” said New Zealand coach Rob Walter.
“It’s wonderful to host another top-tier team like Australia on our home turf. England, led by Harry Brook, plays an exciting style of cricket, and our team is keen to tackle that challenge,” added Walter.
Several players are unavailable for selection due to injuries: Ben Sears (hamstring), Finn Allen (foot), Adam Milne (ankle), Will O’Rourke (back), Glenn Phillips (groin), and Lockie Ferguson (hamstring).
