Nepal Clinches Historic Series Victory with Second T20I Triumph Over West Indies
Nepal secured a 90-run victory against the West Indies in the second T20I, marking their first-ever bilateral series win over a Test-playing nation. Mohammad Aadil Alam was pivotal with a four-wicket haul, while Kushal Burtel added to the effort with three wickets, leading to the dismissal of the Windies for 83 runs in the 18th over.
Led by Rohit Paudel, Nepal achieved its maiden T20I victory over a full member nation during the series opener held in the UAE. This series win is especially noteworthy as it represents Nepal’s inaugural multi-game encounter against a Test-playing team.
Previously, Nepal defeated Afghanistan back in 2014, although Afghanistan was still classified as an Associate Member during that period.
Prior to facing the Caribbean team, Nepal took part in the Top End T20 Series in Australia, playing alongside Bangladesh A, Pakistan Shaheens, and several Australian academies and clubs.
This historic series triumph is expected to significantly boost the Rhinos’ confidence as they prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier 2025, which is scheduled to take place in Al Amarat, Oman, in October.
