Rain's Reign: NZ vs WI 4th T20I Washed Out by Weather

The fourth Twenty20 international between New Zealand and the West Indies was called off due to rain on Monday after less than seven overs were played.

New Zealand is ahead in the series 2-1, with the fifth and final match scheduled for Thursday in Dunedin.

Before the match was halted at Nelson’s Saxton Oval, the West Indies had scored 38-1 in 6.3 overs after being put in to bat. Alick Athanaze, who scored 21 runs, was the sole wicket to fall. He was caught by Daryl Mitchell, running back, after miscuing a lofted shot off James Neesham.

Amir Jangoo remained unbeaten on 12, and captain Shai Hope was not out on three.

New Zealand lost the series opener at Auckland’s Eden Park by seven runs but secured a victory in the second match at the same venue by three runs.

They claimed a nine-run win in the third match in Nelson on Sunday.
