Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper-batter, is poised to achieve a significant milestone by being the first Bangladeshi cricketer to play 100 Test matches. This follows Cricket Ireland’s agreement to a two-match Test series in Bangladesh, starting November 10.

Ireland initially preferred a single Test match in Bangladesh but changed their stance to accommodate a two-Test series after discussions with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

A BCB official confirmed to Cricbuzz on Thursday that both boards have agreed to proceed with the two-Test series after Ireland altered their initial proposal.

The first Test will be held in Sylhet from November 10 to 14, while Mushfiqur’s landmark 100th Test is scheduled to take place in Dhaka from November 18 to 22. He has played 98 Tests so far.

Mushfiqur debuted in Test cricket at the age of 18 at Lord’s in 2005, making him the second-youngest player at the venue, trailing only Sachin Tendulkar. He remains the sole Bangladeshi batsman to score over 6,000 Test runs, with a top score of 219 not out against Zimbabwe in 2020, the highest individual Test score for Bangladesh.

After the Test series, Bangladesh and Ireland will face each other in three T20I matches.

The first two T20I matches will take place in Chattogram on November 27 and 29, with the series concluding in Dhaka on December 2.
