PREVIEW

Afghanistan aims to improve its performance in T20 cricket as it faces Zimbabwe in the first of three T20I matches at Harare Sports Club on Wednesday.

After being eliminated in the group stage of the Asia Cup in September and suffering a 3-0 defeat against Bangladesh in a recent T20I series, Afghanistan’s batting lineup, especially, has faced challenges. The team registered scores of 151, 147, and 143 in those games, all of which were easily chased down by Bangladesh.

Zimbabwe, however, is optimistic following their significant innings-victory in the one-off Test against Afghanistan and is eager to maintain its winning streak. The team has had a successful run with five consecutive victories in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Region qualifier and a 2-1 series win over Namibia.

Both teams will be led by their notable spin-bowling all-rounders, with Sikandar Raza captaining the Zimbabwean side.
