Ireland Reveals Lineup for Upcoming T20I Clash with England
Ben Calitz has been called up for the first time to Ireland’s T20I squad for their series against England, marking the inaugural T20I series hosted at home against the Three Lions. Calitz, aged 23, previously played for Canada at the Under-19 level and was selected for the Ireland Wolves’ tour to UAE in April 2025.
Paul Stirling is set to captain the 14-member squad. However, key players like Mark Adair, Josh Little, and Fionn Hand will miss the series due to injuries as they continue their recovery.
All three matches will take place in Malahide, serving as an essential preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, scheduled for next year in India and Sri Lanka.
Speaking about the series in light of the upcoming T20 World Cup, Ireland’s National Men’s Selector, Andrew White, stated, “Facing England is always a special event, but this series holds added significance with the T20 World Cup less than six months away. It provides us an opportunity to challenge ourselves against one of the top teams globally as we gear up for the tournament.”
