Injuries Sideline Miller and Coetzee Ahead of PAK vs SA T20 Clash

Miller and Coetzee Out of Action: Injury Setbacks for SA Before PAK T20 Face-off

South Africa’s temporary T20I captain, David Miller, has been ruled out of the upcoming series against Pakistan, which starts on October 28 in Rawalpindi. Fast bowler Gerald Coetzee will also miss both the T20I and ODI series.

According to a statement from Cricket South Africa, “Miller has been sidelined after scans conducted on Wednesday confirmed a Grade 1 strain in his right hamstring, sustained during training leading up to the tour. He will now start a phased rehabilitation program.”

Coetzee had to withdraw from the tour’s white-ball series due to a pectoral muscle injury incurred during the T20I against Namibia earlier in October.

In Miller’s absence, Donovan Ferreira will lead the team. The T20I squad will see the addition of Matthew Breetzke and uncapped Tony de Zorzi, while Ottneil Baartman will replace Coetzee in the ODI squad.

The series against Pakistan includes three T20 matches scheduled from October 28 to November 1 in Rawalpindi and Lahore, followed by the ODI series in Faisalabad from November 4 to 8.
