India vs UAE T20I Clash: Head-to-Head Stats and Top Performers
India is set to begin its 2025 Asia Cup journey with a match against the UAE at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium this Wednesday.
As the reigning T20 World Cup champions, India aims to secure its second Asia Cup title in the T20 format, having won the inaugural event in 2016.
The UAE makes its return to the tournament after its last appearance in 2016, when it advanced through the preliminary round but did not progress past the group stage.

India and the UAE have faced each other just once in T20I history, during the 2016 Asia Cup held in Mirpur, Bangladesh.
In that match, the UAE, opting to bat first at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, was restricted to 81 for nine in its allotted 20 overs. All six Indian bowlers claimed a wicket, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, India’s top wicket-taker in the Men’s Asia Cup T20, delivering figures of 2 for 8 in four overs. Shaiman Anwar was the standout performer for the UAE, scoring 43 off 48 balls with three fours and a six.
Left-arm spinner Pawan Negi made his debut for India in this match, taking the wicket of Muhammed Usman.
India then secured a comfortable nine-wicket victory with 59 balls remaining, driven by Rohit Sharma’s 39 off 28 balls and Yuvraj Singh’s quick 25 off 14 balls.
