India Clinches Victory Against USA in Thrilling Rain-Drenched U19 World Cup 2026 Finale

India launched their ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 journey with a six-wicket triumph over the USA, utilizing the DLS Method, at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Thursday.

Ayush Mhatre, having won the toss, chose to bowl first. Henil Patel capitalized on the surface’s bounce and movement, achieving a remarkable five-wicket haul.

For the USA, Nitish Sudini put up a valiant effort, scoring 36 off 52 balls, and managed to lead his team past the 100-run threshold. However, lacking support from his teammates, the USA was all out for 107 in 36 overs.

The start of India’s innings faced a rain delay. When play resumed, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed early by Ritvik Appidi, contributing just two runs as his attempted big hit went awry.

Ayush Mhatre added a quick series of boundaries bringing India’s score to 21 in four overs before rain interrupted again. Upon resumption, the target was adjusted to 96 runs in 37 overs. Despite a challenging phase where India lost two wickets in three deliveries with Vedant Trivedi and Mhatre getting out, Abhigyan Kundu’s composed innings of 42 from 41 balls steered India to victory, achieved in the 18th over.
