In the first T20I match against India in Cuttack on Tuesday, South Africa was dismissed for just 74 runs, marking their lowest score in this format and resulting in a decisive 101-run victory for the hosts. Dewald Brevis was the top-scorer for South Africa with 22 runs off 14 balls, while only three players managed to reach double digits. Jasprit Bumrah impressed with two wickets, becoming the second Indian bowler to achieve 100 T20I wickets. Previously, South Africa’s lowest T20I total was 87, which also occurred against India in Rajkot in 2022.
