ICC Collaborates with Bangladesh Cricket Board to Address India Tour Concerns

ICC and Bangladesh Cricket Board Unite to Tackle India Tour Challenges

On Wednesday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that the ICC has expressed willingness to collaborate closely with the board to address issues regarding the team’s participation in the T20 World Cup in India.

This development follows heightened tensions between India and Bangladesh after Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman was removed from the IPL on orders from the BCCI. This move led the BCB to demand, through a formal submission to the ICC, that its four World Cup matches in India be relocated to co-host Sri Lanka.

In a statement, the BCB mentioned, “The Bangladesh Cricket Board has received a response from the ICC concerning the Board’s concerns over the safety and security of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in India for the ICC T20 World Cup, including the request for moving the team’s matches.”

The statement continued, “The ICC has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the Bangladesh team’s full and uninterrupted participation in the tournament.

“The ICC has communicated its readiness to work closely with the BCB to address the raised concerns and has assured that the Board’s inputs will be welcomed and considered in the detailed security planning for the event,” the statement added.

The ICC has not publicly responded to the BCB on this matter.

The T20 World Cup is set to commence on February 7, with Bangladesh scheduled to play its four matches in Kolkata and Mumbai.
