Australian all-rounder Grace Harris is out of the upcoming 50-over Women’s World Cup in India and Sri Lanka due to a calf strain. The injury occurred during her comeback in the third ODI against India on Saturday, marking her first appearance in the format since March 2024.
Harris will now return home to focus on recovery and rehabilitation in preparation for the Women’s Big Bash League starting November 9. Heather Graham has been named as her replacement and will join the Australian team in India after playing Western Australia’s first two Women’s National Cricket League matches on September 24 and 25.
Harris was a part of Australia’s 2022 ODI World Cup squad but did not play in any games. Despite limited appearances in the ODI format, she earned a spot in the 2025 World Cup team following a stellar domestic cricket performance in England.
She excelled for Surrey in the T20 Blast, accumulating 338 runs in 12 innings with a strike rate of 156, including an unbeaten 63 off 33 balls in the final. Her remarkable form continued in the Women’s Hundred, where she scored 214 runs at a strike rate of 174 for London Spirit.
Harris was included in Australia’s XI for the third ODI when Annabel Sutherland was sidelined due to hip soreness.
After wrapping up the ODI series against India, the Australian squad has a four-day break in Bengaluru before facing England in a warm-up game next Sunday.
