For the second consecutive day, the Eden Gardens pitch presented challenges for the batters in the opening Test between India and South Africa.

Despite nearly completing three innings, not a single player from either team has surpassed a score of 40 runs.

As Saturday drew to a close, India gained the upper hand, thanks to their spinners who compensated for the team’s underwhelming batting performance, with India managing only 189 in their first innings.
