Dynamic Trio: Gill, Abhishek, and Arshdeep Headline Punjab’s Vijay Hazare 2025-26 Squad

The Punjab team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy will feature Indian ODI captain Shubman Gill, the world’s top-ranked T20 batter Abhishek Sharma, and fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, as announced on Monday. This inclusion aligns with the BCCI’s mandate for mandatory participation in the National One-Day Championship.

While Gill, who was omitted from India’s T20 World Cup squad, and Arshdeep, a regular in white-ball formats, may only be available for two to three matches, they are expected to participate before the ODIs against New Zealand commencing on January 11.

Punjab, placed in group C alongside favorites Mumbai, will kick off its matches against Maharashtra on December 24 and Chhattisgarh on December 26, during which Gill and Arshdeep are anticipated to be available.

Abhishek Sharma, scheduled for T20I duties only, might have the opportunity to play more matches.

The prominent Mumbai vs. Punjab encounter in Jaipur is set for January 8. By then, both Mumbai’s Rohit Sharma and Punjab’s Gill will be unavailable.
