Curran’s Breakthrough Century Dominates Day 2 as Zimbabwe Leads Afghanistan in One-Off Test
Zimbabwe’s Ben Curran achieved his first test century, propelling his team to a 198-run advantage against Afghanistan by the end of the second day of the solo test match in Harare. Afghanistan reached 34-1 in their second innings by the day’s end on Tuesday.
Curran, at 29 years old, is the brother of England cricketers Sam and Tom Curran. He scored 121 runs, contributing significantly to Zimbabwe’s total of 359 after Afghanistan was dismissed for 127 at the Harare Sports Club.

Ben Curran, continuing his family legacy, partnered with Sikandar Raza for a crucial 99-run stand for the fifth wicket before Raza was dismissed for 65.
Resuming at 130-2 with Curran on 52, Zimbabwe saw Curran reach his century after facing 217 balls before being caught leg before wicket (lbw).
Ziaur Rahman, making his test debut for Afghanistan, shone with figures of 7-97, marking the second-best performance for his country in test matches, behind Rashid Khan’s 7-66 also against Zimbabwe.
