In addition to well-known figures like Sourav Ganguly (CAB), Jaydev Shah (Saurashtra), Arun Singh Dhumal (HPCA), and Rajeev Shukla (UPCA), many participants in this year’s BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) were anticipated.

Harbhajan Singh stands out among the state representatives for the meeting. Representing the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), his participation has led to speculation regarding his future in a significant BCCI position.

The former Indian player has been discreet about his plans. However, connections suggest his nomination is linked with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, with no further implications.

Still, Harbhajan’s involvement is presumably more than just a friendship with the Punjab Chief Minister. Representatives with national or international experience include Jaydev Shah, Raghuram Bhatt (Karnataka), and Mithun Minhas (JKCA), alongside Ganguly.

Rohan Jaitley, son of the late Arun Jaitley, a key Delhi cricket figure, will be nominated by the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA), recognized within the BCCI circle. Anirudh Chaudhary, a former BCCI treasurer, represents the Haryana Cricket Association (HCA).

State nominees are critical as only these representatives can contest the elections scheduled for September 28. Positions up for election include president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer. It’s expected that the current secretary, Devajit Saikia (Assam), treasurer Prabhtej Singh Bhatia (Chhattisgarh), and joint secretary Rohan Dessa (Goa) will remain. With Roger Binny above the age cap of 70, the presidency is the major question.

The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has submitted Mahanaaryaman Rao Scindia, son of Scindia. Noteworthy representatives include Sanjay Naik (Mumbai), Rohit Pawar (Maharashtra), P Damodaran (Pondicherry), and Anil Patel (Gujarat).

“The Draft Electoral Roll includes all Representatives nominated by Full Members of the BCCI. Records were verified following the Electoral Officer’s guide of 6th September 2025,” noted BCCI electoral officer AK Joti.
