The 16th ICC Under-19 World Cup kicks off on Thursday, January 15, as five-time winner India faces the USA in Bulawayo.
In addition to this match, the tournament’s opening day features host Zimbabwe against Scotland, and debutant Tanzania versus the West Indies.

This 16-team event unfolds over 23 days, with 41 matches slated across five venues in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
During the group stage, the 16 teams are divided into four groups of four, competing in 24 matches. The top three teams from each group advance to the Super Sixes phase. In the Super Sixes, 12 teams are split into two groups of six, combining the top three from Group A and D in one, and the top three from Groups B and C in the other.
In the Super Sixes, each team plays two matches against teams finishing in different ranks from the opposite group. For instance, the top team from Group A (A1) meets the second and third-placed teams from Group D (D2 and D3).
Points, wins, and Net Run Rate earned against successful group stage opponents carry over to the Super Sixes.
The semifinals are scheduled for February 3 and 4, followed by the final on February 6.
Australia is the reigning champion, having defeated India in the 2024 finals, while Tanzania debuts in this tournament.
