Complete Lineup of Teams Secured for the 2026 T20 World Cup
All 20 teams set to compete in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup next year in India and Sri Lanka were confirmed on Thursday, with the United Arab Emirates becoming the final team to secure a spot in this global event.
The UAE, alongside Nepal and Oman, clinched their places for the tournament by ensuring a top-three finish at the Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier in Muscat.
The 2026 T20 World Cup, scheduled between February and March, will feature 20 teams for the second time in a row.
India and Sri Lanka automatically qualified as hosts, while Australia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, England, South Africa, the USA, and the West Indies secured their participation by finishing in the top seven at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Pakistan, Ireland, and New Zealand earned their spots through the ICC T20 rankings. Meanwhile, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Oman, and the UAE qualified via regional qualifying tournaments.
Italy will make its debut appearance at the T20 World Cup. Conversely, Scotland, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea participated in the last T20 World Cup but did not qualify this time.
