Bracewell Takes ODI Helm as Williamson Sits Out India Tour: New Zealand Reveals T20I, ODI Squads
The squads for New Zealand Cricket’s One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) series against India in January were announced on Tuesday.
Mitchell Santner, the team captain, has been rested for the ODI series, and former captain Kane Williamson is also not part of the lineup. All-rounder Michael Bracewell will serve as the captain for these matches in Santner’s absence. Additionally, Matt Henry, Mark Chapman, and Rachin Ravindra will not be participating in the ODIs.
The T20I series will serve as the team’s last chance to perfect their squad ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup, where New Zealand is set to compete in Group D alongside South Africa, Afghanistan, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.
