MATCH PREVIEW
England is aiming for a consolation victory in the third and final ODI against South Africa at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, this Sunday.
South Africa has already secured the series with a 2-0 lead, having narrowly defeated England by five runs in the second ODI. Despite half-centuries from Joe Root, Jacob Bethell, and Jos Buttler, England was unable to surpass South Africa’s large total of 330 runs.
The first match of the series was less competitive, with South Africa clinching a dominant seven-wicket win, chasing down a modest target of 132 runs in under 21 overs.
Following this ODI series, the teams will compete in three T20I matches.
