Axar Patel is doing well after being hit on the head while fielding. India’s fielding coach, T Dilip, confirmed this after their 21-run victory over Oman in Abu Dhabi.

In the 15th over, Axar was positioned at mid-off when a miscued shot by Hammad Mirza came his way. He sprinted to his left, fumbled twice, and lost balance while attempting a third catch. Clutching his head, he eventually left the field.

Axar did not return for the rest of the innings and bowled only one over. Earlier, he had fired a quick 26 off 13 balls at No. 5, featuring three fours and a six.

With a match against Pakistan in under 48 hours in Dubai, it is uncertain if Axar will be fit. His all-round abilities provide crucial balance to India’s team, with flexibility in the middle order. He was also the vice-captain during the home series against England earlier this year, which India won 4-1.

In the group-stage match against Pakistan, Axar took two wickets and played a significant role in restricting runs during the middle overs.
