Aussie Blow: Skipper Healy Benched for Crucial England Faceoff at Women’s ODI World Cup 2025
Australia’s captain, Alyssa Healy, will miss her team’s Women’s ODI World Cup match against England because of a calf injury. Healy, the tournament’s current top scorer, sustained the injury during a training session on Saturday. The 35-year-old has already scored 294 runs in the World Cup, including two centuries.
In her absence, Tahlia McGrath will lead the Australian team. Cricket Australia has announced that Healy’s fitness will be reassessed before the team’s final group-stage match against South Africa on Saturday.
Australia, which is at the top of the table, will face second-placed England at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Wednesday.
