Asia Cup T20 Records: Standout Performances and Milestones Before 2025
The Asia Cup 2025 is set to begin on Tuesday, with the opening match featuring Afghanistan against Hong Kong at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
India will start its campaign against host United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 10. The tournament, featuring eight teams, will conclude with the final in Dubai on September 28.

Highest Individual Score

Virat Kohli holds the record for the highest individual score in T20 Asia Cups, scoring an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in the 2022 edition in Dubai. Babar Hayat of Hong Kong is the only other batter to score a century in the tournament’s T20 format, hitting 122 against Oman in 2016.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only bowler to take a five-wicket haul in tournament history.

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s remarkable 5 for 4 against Afghanistan in 2022 stands as the best bowling performance in a T20 Asia Cup match. He remains the only bowler to have achieved a five-wicket haul in the tournament’s history.
Highest Team Score

India has the distinction of being the only team to surpass the 200-run mark in an Asia Cup T20 match. The Men in Blue accomplished this feat by scoring 212/2 against Afghanistan in 2022.
Lowest Team Score

Hong Kong posted the lowest total in the tournament’s history, getting bowled out for 38 by Pakistan in 2022. None of the Hong Kong batters reached double figures as Pakistan secured a 155-run victory.
Lowest Total Defended
The record for the lowest total defended in an Asia Cup T20 game is held by Sri Lanka. In 2016, Sri Lanka successfully defended a score of 129 against the UAE in Mirpur, winning by 14 runs.
Most Catches in a Match (Non-wicketkeeper)
Babar Hayat of Hong Kong set the record for the most catches in a single match as a non-wicketkeeper, taking four catches in a 2016 game against Afghanistan in Mirpur.
