Anshul Kamboj's Heroics Propel Haryana to Super Over Triumph Against Punjab

In a thrilling encounter at the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy match in Hyderabad, Haryana clinched a narrow victory over Punjab in a Super Over finish after both teams ended their innings tied at 207 runs.

Opting to bat first, Haryana’s innings was anchored by captain Ankit Kumar and all-rounder Nishant Sindhu, both of whom scored impressive half-centuries. Ankit set an aggressive tone with a 51 off just 26 balls, while Sindhu steadied the innings in the middle, contributing 61 off 31 balls. Sumit Kumar’s swift 28 at the end pushed Haryana’s total to 207 for nine. On the bowling front, Punjab’s Ashwani Kumar stood out, securing figures of three for 31 in his four-over spell.

Punjab’s run chase got off to a rocky start, with Abhishek Sharma dismissed for six and Prabhsimran Singh following with 20, both falling to Anshul Kamboj, who concluded with figures of two for 26. Nevertheless, Anmolpreet Singh revitalized Punjab’s innings with a stunning 81 off 37 balls. Sanvir Singh further strengthened their efforts with an unbeaten 30 from 16 balls, driving Punjab to level the scores by the end of 20 overs.

The Super Over added another layer of drama. Punjab’s chances dimmed quickly as Kamboj claimed the wickets of Abhishek and Sanvir on their first deliveries, leaving Punjab in disbelief. Haryana required just two runs to secure the win, which they achieved with ease.
