Afghanistan U19 Dominates with 71-Run Victory Over India B in Second Tri-Series One-Dayer
Afghanistan put on an impressive all-round performance to secure a 71-run victory against India-B in the second one-day match of the U-19 Tri-Series, which also includes India-A. The match took place at the Centre of Excellence Ground on Wednesday.
After being dismissed for 168 in 45.2 overs, with Naman Pushpak taking 4/45 in his 10 overs, the Afghanistan U-19 team made a strong comeback to win the match and claim the top spot.
India-B, having already been defeated by the ‘A’ side in the first match, is currently at the bottom of the table with two losses in a row.
In the bowling department, Ishan Sood stood out for India B with figures of 8-0-24-2. For Afghanistan, Faisal Shinozada played a crucial innings, scoring a solid 58 off 76 balls (7 boundaries), while Azizullah Maikhil contributed 42 runs to help them reach 168.
India B’s response saw opening batter Yuvraj Gohil deliver a commendable performance, scoring 60 off 80 balls (8 fours, 1 six). However, the rest of the Indian batting lineup faltered, with all other batsmen failing to reach double figures. The team was bowled out for just 97 in 29.3 overs, as Abdul Aziz took 6/38 in his 10 overs. Salam Khan and Wahidullah Zadran also contributed by taking two wickets each.
