Abhishek Encourages Suryakumar and Gill’s Return to Form in Crucial IND vs SA T20I Clash

India’s opener, Abhishek Sharma, isn’t concerned about the recent form dips of Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav.

“I’ll say this right away: trust me, Suryakumar and Shubman will secure wins for India in the World Cup and even in the games leading up to it. I’ve played alongside them for quite a while, especially Shubman. I understand the conditions that suit Shubman, no matter the opponent. I have complete confidence in him, and soon, everyone else will share that confidence,” said Abhishek, who managed a smooth 35 in the third T20I against South Africa on Sunday, during the post-match press conference.

South African captain Aiden Markram expressed surprise at the low-scoring nature of the match.

“Everything was unexpected. The pitch looked promising for batting, and the Indian team felt the same, as did Ravi Shastri at the toss. We didn’t anticipate it would behave like that. It was challenging, but you have to strategize to achieve a competitive total. Ultimately, we fell 20-30 runs short,” Markram noted.
