During a warm-up match against England in Bengaluru, the Indian women’s cricket team faced a significant setback as fast bowler Arundhati Reddy sustained an injury. While attempting to catch a ball off her own bowling to dismiss Heather Knight, she awkwardly landed on her left leg.

Team physio initially assessed Reddy on the field. Despite attempting to walk, she eventually required a wheelchair to leave the ground.

Prior to her injury, Reddy had bowled 4.4 overs, claiming one wicket at the cost of 34 runs.

As a crucial member of India’s pace attack alongside Renuka Thakur and Kranti Goud for the upcoming World Cup, the team has yet to disclose the severity of Reddy’s injury or her recovery timeline.
