Rahul Chahar Set to Fill in for R. Sai Kishore in Surrey’s County Championship Finale

Rahul Chahar Steps Up for Surrey's County Championship Decider

Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar is set to join Surrey for their final County Championship match of the season against Hampshire. According to a statement by the club’s director of cricket, Alec Stewart, Surrey had initially intended to bring back R. Sai Kishore. However, due to a finger injury and subsequent surgery, Kishore is unavailable, prompting the club to call upon Chahar.

Rahul Chahar, who competes in the Ranji Trophy for Rajasthan and has represented India in white-ball cricket seven times, expressed his eagerness to make a positive contribution to Surrey’s efforts in their last match of the season. “I’m excited to join Surrey for this week’s match. I’m coming here to have an impact and help the team in their final match of the season,” Chahar stated.

The 26-year-old cricketer has appeared in 24 First Class matches, taking 87 wickets at an average of 28.01. In the upcoming match, Chahar is expected to face off against fellow Indian spinner Washington Sundar, currently playing for Hampshire. The match is slated for September 24 to September 27.
