Arshdeep Singh Shines: Becomes First Indian to Claim 100 T20I Wickets in Asia Cup 2025 Clash Against Oman
Arshdeep Singh made history as the first Indian bowler to achieve 100 wickets in T20 Internationals during India’s Asia Cup 2025 match against Oman on Friday. The left-arm pacer, who holds the record for the most wickets by an Indian in this format, reached this milestone by taking down Vinayak Shukla in the 20th over.
Arshdeep debuted for India in a match against England at Southampton in 2022, where he impressed with figures of 2-18.

Before this match, Arshdeep had secured 99 wickets in 63 T20Is for India, maintaining an average of 18.30. His best bowling figures of 4-9 were achieved against the USA. He became India’s leading T20I wicket-taker during India’s series against England in January, surpassing previous records by dismissing Ben Duckett and Phil Salt in the first match.
Notably, this was his first appearance in the Asia Cup as India previously opted to field only one frontline pacer, Jasprit Bumrah.
