Jatinder and Aamir Make History with 50-Run Stand Against India in Asia Cup 2025

Crucial Partnership: Jatinder and Aamir Shine with Record-Breaking 50-Run Stand Against India

Oman openers Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem became only the second duo from an Associate nation to achieve a fifty-run partnership against India in T20Is. This occurred during the Asia Cup 2025 match in Abu Dhabi. The pair amassed a 56-run partnership while chasing India’s set target of 189, before Jatinder was bowled out by Kuldeep Yadav.

Subsequently, Aamir Kaleem and Hammad Mirza formed the third Associate duo to reach a fifty-run partnership in the same match. Their impressive 93-run partnership is the highest by any Associate team against India.

Previously, the most recent fifty-run partnership from an Associate nation was achieved by Afghanistan’s Asghar Afghan and Noor Ali Zadran, who put together 68 runs in Gros Islet in 2010. Since then, Afghanistan (five times) and Ireland (twice) have achieved fifty-run partnerships against India in T20Is, although both countries have since been granted full member status.

Highest partnership by an Associate pair vs. India in T20Is:

  • 93 – Aamir Kaleem, Hammad Mirza (Oman, 2025)
  • 68 – Asghar Afghan, Noor Ali Zadran (Afghanistan, 2010)
