Real Madrid Faces Setback as Defender Rudiger Suffers Muscle Injury

Rudiger's Muscle Woe Deals Real Madrid a Defensive Blow

Real Madrid’s central defender, Antonio Rudiger, has sustained a muscle injury in his left leg, with reports on Friday indicating that he might be out of action for approximately two months. The 32-year-old Rudiger encountered the injury during training on Friday. Although further tests are expected in the coming days, the AS newspaper described the injury as “serious.”

In an official statement, Real Madrid disclosed that scans have confirmed an injury to Rudiger’s rectus femoris muscle, but they did not specify the duration of his recovery period. So far, the seasoned German international has made just one La Liga appearance this season.

Additionally, Real Madrid signed a new center-back this summer, acquiring the 20-year-old Netherlands-born Spanish international, Dean Huijsen, from Bournemouth. The club is also reportedly interested in signing French international center-back Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool, potentially at the end of this season.

Upcoming matches for Madrid include a La Liga fixture against Real Sociedad away on Saturday, followed by the commencement of their Champions League campaign at home against Marseille on Tuesday.
