Sri Lanka Names Vikram Rathour as New Batting Coach for T20 World Cup Push
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced the appointment of former India Batting Coach Vikram Rathour as the batting coach for the Sri Lanka men’s national team. Rathour’s role will be on a consultancy basis, with a primary emphasis on preparing the team for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2026, according to an SLC release.
Rathour, a former India international cricketer who has played in both Tests and One-Day Internationals, will start his duties on January 18 and will remain with the team until March 10. Previously, he served as the batting coach for the Indian men’s team across all formats from September 2019 to July 2024.
Rathour holds coaching qualifications including BCCI Level 3, Cricket Australia Level 3, and England & Wales Cricket Board Level 1. He is also currently the Lead Assistant Coach for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.
