Visibility Issues Postpone Shreyas Iyer’s Homecoming Game Against Himachal in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26

Imam-ul-Haq's Remarkable Comeback Quiets Doubters in PAK vs SA Test Opener

Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh in Jaipur is expected to start late due to poor visibility. Other matches in the city, including Sikkim vs Uttarakhand, Goa vs Punjab, and Chhattisgarh vs Maharashtra, are also likely to be affected by the same issue.

With Shardul Thakur sidelined by a calf injury, Shreyas Iyer is set to lead the Mumbai team for the remaining group matches of the tournament. Shreyas, who joined the team on Monday, engaged in an extensive training session at the Jaipuria Vidyalaya ground, guided by coaches Omkar Salvi and Atul Ranade.

A tweet by Shayan Acharya highlighted the visibility problems affecting the start of the Mumbai vs. Himachal match at the Jaipur Vidyalaya ground.

Despite T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav’s expected participation in upcoming games against Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, Mumbai’s selectors have opted to hand the captaincy to Shreyas Iyer, currently serving as India’s ODI vice-captain.

This tournament marks Shreyas’ return to competitive cricket following a spleen injury sustained last October during India’s tour of Australia. After completing a 10-day rehabilitation at the CoE and successfully participating in a practice game last week without any issues, Shreyas is ready to make his comeback.
