Meet South Africa’s Dynamic Line-Up for the 2026 T20 World Cup

Introducing South Africa's Thrilling Squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup

Aiden Markram has been appointed as the captain of the 15-member South Africa squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will take place in India and Sri Lanka, as announced by the national cricket board on Friday.

The right-handed batter will continue his role as the T20 International (T20I) captain, guiding a team that perfectly blends seasoned experience with vibrant young talent.

In a significant boost for the Proteas’ bowling lineup, Kagiso Rabada has been cleared to play. Rabada, who missed the recent white-ball series against India due to a rib injury, brings vital firepower and expertise to spearhead the pace attack.

Notably, dynamic top-order wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton has been excluded from the squad, while Jason Smith, with only two T20I matches under his belt, has been included. Additionally, middle-order batsman Tristan Stubbs has also been left out.

South Africa finds itself in Group D, requiring them to perform with consistent precision. They will face Afghanistan, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Proteas will commence their campaign against Canada on February 9 in Ahmedabad.

Full Squad

Aiden Markram (Captain), Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi, Donovan Ferreira, George Linde, Kwena Maphaka, Jason Smith, Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, and Anrich Nortje.
