Vaibhav Suryavanshi Leads India U-19 Squad in South Africa ODI Challenge

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been appointed as the captain of the India Under-19 cricket team, which will travel to South Africa in preparation for the ICC Men’s U-19 World Cup scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe and Namibia. This marks Suryavanshi’s debut as a captain in professional cricket.

The decision by the Junior Cricket Committee follows the wrist injury of regular captain Ayush Mhatre, as announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Both Ayush Mhatre and batter Vihaan Malhotra will attend the BCCI Centre of Excellence for injury management and are expected to rejoin the team for the World Cup.

Starting on January 15, the World Cup will be preceded by a three-match One-Day series against South Africa in Benoni, with all games scheduled at Willowmoore Park on January 3, 5, and 7.
