Ishan Kishan’s Blazing Fast Century Powers Jharkhand in Vijay Hazare Clash
Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan smashed a rapid 33-ball century for Jharkhand against Karnataka during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Kishan’s dazzling century ranks as the second-fastest by an Indian in List A cricket, trailing by just one delivery behind Bihar captain Sakibul Gani’s remarkable 32-ball hundred against Arunachal Pradesh, which was also achieved earlier on the same day.
Fastest Centuries by Indians in List A Cricket:
| Name | Balls | Match | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sakibul Gani | 32 | Bihar vs Arunachal Pradesh | December 24, 2025 |
| Ishan Kishan | 33 | Jharkhand vs Karnataka | December 24, 2025 |
| Anmolpreet Singh | 35 | Punjab vs Arunachal Pradesh | December 21, 2024 |
| Vaibhav Suryavanshi | 36 | Bihar vs Arunachal Pradesh | December 24, 2025 |
| Yusuf Pathan | 40 | Baroda vs Maharashtra | February 16, 2010 |
This impressive performance by Kishan marks the peak of an outstanding phase for the left-hand batsman. Just last week, he remarkably secured a surprise spot in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup, shortly after guiding Jharkhand to its first-ever Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy victory.
Kishan concluded the SMAT season with a total of 517 runs, including a pivotal century in the final against Haryana, becoming only the second player to hit a hundred in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final. He achieved this in just 45 balls, the third-fastest century in a men’s T20 tournament final. With five centuries in the tournament, Kishan now shares the record for the most centuries alongside Abhishek Sharma.
Notably, Kishan also holds the record for the fastest double century in ODI history, accomplished against Bangladesh in 2022 off just 126 balls.
