IPL 2026 Auction: Player Pool Insights by Nation
The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is scheduled for December 16, 2025, in Abu Dhabi. Initially, 1,355 players registered for this mini auction in preparation for the IPL 2026 season. This number has since been narrowed down to 359 by the event organizers.
From the shortlisted players, 244 hail from India, with nine additional players added to the original lineup announced by the governing body. Among overseas players, Australia and England have the largest contingents, with 21 and 22 players respectively.
Ireland is represented by pacer Josh Little, and Malaysia’s Virandeep Singh is also included in the final shortlist.
