Gary Kirsten to Advise Namibia in T20 World Cup 2026 Campaign

Gary Kirsten to Guide Namibia's T20 World Cup 2026 Ambitions

Former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten has taken on the role of a consultant for Namibia’s men’s cricket team as they gear up for the ICC T20 World Cup set to take place in India and Sri Lanka. Kirsten, renowned for coaching India to victory in the 2011 World Cup, has also been at the helm for South Africa and, more recently, Pakistan.

Kirsten’s involvement comes at a critical juncture for the Namibian men’s team as they intensify their preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

“It is indeed a privilege to work with Cricket Namibia,” Kirsten expressed in a statement from the national governing body. “I am thoroughly impressed with their dedication and determination to foster a high-performance cricket environment.”

Namibia’s newly built, state-of-the-art cricket stadium underscores their commitment to ensuring their national teams can compete with the world’s leading cricket nations. The senior men’s national team is performing admirably, and Kirsten looks forward to contributing to their T20 World Cup preparation for February next year.

Kirsten, who has been part of the coaching staff for the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL), will collaborate closely with National Men’s Head Coach Craig Williams, providing his expertise.
