Retention Limits for the WPL 2026 Season:
Teams can retain up to five players from their current roster, either by direct retention or by utilizing the Right to Match (RTM). According to the rules, a franchise may keep a maximum of three capped Indian players and no more than two overseas players.
Right to Match (RTM) Card Availability for the WPL 2026 Auction:
Franchises can use up to five RTM cards, though the actual number available will be contingent upon the number of players retained before the auction. For example, if a team retains two players, it will have three RTMs available during the mega auction.
Definition of an Uncapped Player in the WPL 2026 Auction:
An uncapped player is defined as someone who has not yet played for their national team. This includes players who have participated in ‘A’ team matches against international sides, as they are considered uncapped.
Retention Slabs for the WPL 2026 Auction:
The auction budget, set at Rs. 15 crore, is divided into different slabs: Rs. 3.5 crore for Player 1, Rs. 2.5 crore for Player 2, Rs. 1.75 crore for Player 3, Rs. 1 crore for Player 4, and Rs. 50 lakhs for Player 5.
