USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy Faces ICC Corruption Allegations
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Friday that USA cricketer Akhilesh Reddy has been charged with three violations of its Anti-Corruption Code related to the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 2025 tournament.
The 25-year-old off-spinner, who played for UP Nawabs in the league, has been provisionally suspended effective immediately.
Reddy has until December 5 to respond to the charges.
The ICC, acting as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official for the tournament on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board, reported that the charges arose from alleged misconduct during the event.
Reddy faces charges under Article 2.1.1 for attempting to fix, contrive, or improperly influence the result, progress, or conduct of matches in the ADT10 2025; Article 2.1.4 for soliciting, inducing, or encouraging another participant to commit a breach of Article 2.1.1; and Article 2.4.7 for obstructing the investigation by deleting data and messages from a mobile device.
The ICC stated it would refrain from further comment until the disciplinary process is concluded.
Reddy debuted for the USA earlier this year at the North America T20 Cup, participating in four matches.
