India A Triumphs Over Oman, Secures Spot in Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 Semis
India A, led by a thrilling half-century from Harsh Dubey, triumphed over Oman with a six-wicket victory, securing their place in the semifinals of the Rising Stars Asia Cup held in Doha on Tuesday.
After suffering a defeat to Pakistan A earlier in the tournament, India A was under pressure to win against Oman to proceed further in the competition.
India A’s bowlers delivered a cohesive performance, restricting Oman to 135 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.
Demonstrating the might of the Indian side, captained by Jitesh Sharma, they chased down the target with ease in just 17.5 overs.
Opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, despite being dropped at four, could only score 12 off 13 balls, while Priyansh Arya was dismissed after making 10 in six balls.
Naman Dhir contributed a brisk 30 off 19 deliveries before Dubey (53 off 44) and Nehal Wadhera (23 off 24) guided India A to victory. Promoted to the fourth position, Dubey shone with his maiden fifty in T20 cricket.
India A may face off against Pakistan A in the final on November 23.
For the semifinals, India A will compete against the top team of Group A on Friday, with Pakistan also playing their semifinal match on the same day.
